Our Youth Pastor
Growing up in church, Michael accepted Christ when he was 9 years old. But it wasn't until he was 23 that he made the decision to serve the Lord and focus on his relationship with God. Still attending his childhood church, he joined the young adult ministry where he was discipled and participated in small-group Bible studies. Soon he met his future wife and they were married in 2001.
As he led his family, Mike never wanted them to just "take up space" in a pew. His desire was to actively serve their local body and grow in their personal relationship with the Lord by knowing and loving God's Word.
Michael was always ready to do whatever the Lord asked him, and in 2005 the Lord called the Alvarez' to join the Davis family as they planted a church in Kansas City. It was a big step, leaving the church where he and his wife were raised, yet it was very exciting to be used of the Lord in such a mighty way.
At KCBC, Michael served as a deacon for 9 years until he accepted the office of youth pastor in December 2015. He currently pastors the youth, leads singing and also works full-time as an ironworker.
