Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. With my whole heart have I

Word Up is the Jr High and High School ministry of our church. As Word Up, we focus on three
things:
1. Lifting Up the Word - glorifying the Lord
(upward)
2. Arming Up with the Word - girding for the battle
(inward)
3. Filling Up with the Word - giving the truth to others (outward)
Sunday Mornings
In 2012, the focus for Word Up is Precept Upon Precept from Isaiah 28:10. Our aim is to help our youth mature in their walk with Christ by focusing on the basic doctrines of God's Word, from salvation in Christ Jesus to the eternal judgment that awaits each believer at the Judgment Seat of Christ. Each month we will focus on a specific doctrine or precept with the goal of building a solid foundation in the lives of our teens. Our Sunday morning studies will look something like this:
Week 1 - Doctrinal study - teaching the doctrine in a simple, understandable way.
Week 2 - Teen issues: a discussion of the issues that teens confront with regard to the particular topic of study
Week 3 - Practical application of the doctrine
Week 4 - Character study: seeing the doctrine or truth in picture form
Because our desire is to aid our students' understanding of the Word, we will take time during our studies to define the words used in the King James Bible, as well as some of the church-y terms used by Christians today. We will also memorize a few key verses and make sure our students understand their meaning, so they become effective tools to assist their Christian growth. Hopefully, by the end of 2012, each teen will have a better grasp of the truth for which he or she is accountable, and will be able to effectively apply that truth to the challenges of daily life. Wednesday Nights
This year, our teens will meet with the adults for Soldiers of Truth on Wednesday nights. They will be given the opportunity to use what they are learning on Sunday mornings in a fun, yet practical way. Join us each week at 7pm to find out how!
