Youth Ministry
In the Word Up ministry,
Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. With my whole heart have I
sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Blessed art
thou, O Lord: teach me thy statutes. With my lips have I declared all the judgments of
thy mouth. Psalm 119:9-13
Word Up is the Jr High and High School ministry of our church. As Word Up, we focus on three
things:
1. Lifting Up the Word - glorifying the Lord
(upward)
2. Arming Up with the Word - girding for the battle
(inward)
3. Filling Up with the Word - giving the truth to others (outward)
Sunday Mornings and Wednesday Nights
In 2010, the focus for Word Up will be Follow Me! from 1 Corinthians 11:1. We will challenge our youth to follow biblical examples and subsequently lead others to follow their own example in Christ.
We will accomplish this with two goals: solidifying each member's walk after the Lord and siezing opportunities to lead others (both lost and saved).
Sunday mornings at 10:00 am and Wednesday nights at 7:00 pm, we will meet to have our relationship in the Lord
facilitated through our continued study through Proverbs as well as a study of biblical leadership qualities.
Students will have the opportunity to practically apply these qualities by leading services, assisting in the Children's Ministry,
mentoring younger members, and fielding questions in a Q&A format. We will keep each other accountable in the Word and in prayer.
We are also planning on some exciting activities outside of church.
