Our Leaders
A pastor has the Biblical responsibility of edifying the church by the teaching and preaching of the Word of God (I Timothy 4:6). The pastors at the Kansas City Bible Church are committed to fulfilling that responsibility before the Lord (II Timothy 4:1-2). They are unified by the truth of God's Word (I Corinthians 1:10) and work together to fulfill the vision (Ephesians 4:12) the Lord has given our church.

David Davis
David Davis was saved as a child, but did not grow in his personal relationship with Christ until he almost finished high school. At seventeen, he was invited (by his future wife, Silvia) to a local Bible study where the Word of God was being taught as the final authority and relevant to his everyday life. David′s focus on life was completely changed from that time on. A few years later, David and Silvia were married in 1987.
Through the preaching and teaching of the Word of God and the training of a local Bible institute, David grew spiritually and became involved in several ministries including: counseling, discipleship, circuit preaching, and short-term missions. During this time, David worked as a software engineer and they were blessed with three children: Rebecca, Joshua and Caleb.
In 1997, the Lord led David and his family to Panama as missionaries to establish a Biblical ministry there. Their goal was to establish a local church with the Word of God as its final authority, reach people with the gospel of grace, train up the members as soldiers for the Lord, and ultimately establish a pastor′s school to prepare local leadership to take responsibility for the ministry. After seven and a half years, the mission was accomplished. Today, two churches, Iglesia Doctrinal Panamá and Iglesia Bíblica Colón, are the fruit of the ministry in Panama.
In 2005, the Lord led David and his family back to Kansas City to establish a local church here with the Word of God as its final authority. -
Michael Alvarez
Growing up in church, Michael accepted Christ when he was 9 years old. But it wasn't until he was 23 that he made the decision to serve the Lord and focus on his relationship with God. Still attending his childhood church, he joined the young adult ministry where he was discipled and participated in small-group Bible studies. Soon he met his future wife and they were married in 2001.
As he led his family, Mike never wanted them to just "take up space" in a pew. His desire was to actively serve their local body and grow in their personal relationship with the Lord by knowing and loving God's Word.
Michael was always ready to do whatever the Lord asked him, and in 2005 the Lord called the Alvarez' to join the Davis family as they planted a church in Kansas City. It was a big step, leaving the church where he and his wife were raised, yet it was very exciting to be used of the Lord in such a mighty way.
At KCBC, Michael served as a deacon for 9 years until he accepted the office of youth pastor in December 2015. He currently pastors the youth, leads singing and also works full-time as an ironworker.

Elias Gutierrez
Leader of the College and Career Ministry.
When I was a kid my father took me to church and I was able to get saved. As a young adult I started to understand the importance of growing in the word . After that, my focus was that my family needed to grow and be in submission to the word of God. This world is temporal, and we need to focus on the eternal 2 Corinthians 4:18. Right now, I am leading the young adults ministry, and it is a lot of fun. In the same way I want them to understand the importance of focusing on the eternal and be ready for the spiritual battle. 2 Corinthians 10:3-6 and Ephesians 6:11-12. My life verse is 2 Corinthians 5:7.

Joshua Davis
Leader of the Children’s Ministry.
I grew up a missionary kid watching the work my parents did in Panama. I came to know the Lord as my personal Lord and Savior as a child during that time. Through the example my parents and those around them gave to me as a child, I was able to learn to study and live the Word of God. I myself am a testament to what training up your child in the way of the Word of God and living it will do. I am a husband and father to two children. I understand the importance of propagating the ministry and of loving the Lord from a young age. As the leader of the children’s ministry my focus is to be that example to the next generation. Proverbs 22:6 and 1 Corinthians 11:1.
